Too many rums are adulterated, too much sugar

I polished of the last of a bottle of Pussers Navy Strength a few days a go. It's a very good tot for the price. The Smiths & Cross is fantastic too, if you haven't tried it, please do.

We can't get Pusser's 50th anniversary Rum in Finland, only the basic Original 40% stuff. :/
However, I do have few bottles of 1423 S.B.S. 13 Year Old Panama Cask Strength Rum, so I think I'll open one of them at that day.

Recall back in the 80’s getting a rum issue in the Australian Army, this was while being out in the far north rain forest, we were wet for weeks. Lot of young fellas in not like rum, but we persuaded them to pass it along to us. Happy days

I have a conspiracy theory: the clicker doesn't do anything! The video seems to end just before the button is depressed.

I lived in Jamaica in the 80s…and drank rum for 40 years before whisky..

Totally agree with you Ralfy. The Pusser's 50th does trigger a sort of sentimentality. I used to have cans of treacle in the house when I was kid and this is a boozy version of that. A classic British Navy rum which I enjoy very much.

Visited a rum distillery in the U.S. Had a very nice new make but they ruined it by adding caramel for flavor and color. Sold it to make cocktails.

Mr Ralfy, the flag (ensign to be exact) on the rum bottle is the white ensign.

Well done Ralfy! Has a taste of Pusser’s Rum whilst in Japan, gifted to me by Her Majesty’s Navy. It was a tasty dram for sure.

Ralfy, I will ding you on one mistake in your history… The term grog comes from the Admiral who came up with the concept of knocking off the rum ration with water…he wore a grogram overcoat and was referred to as Old Groggy. 😉
