I like this kind of extras where you talk about spirits other than traditional scotch whisky ! maybe you could use some extras to review different spirits like brandy, aquavit, gin etc 🙂

I’d be more interested in a distillery that is experimenting in excellence rather than this one experimenting in mediocrity and marketing.

You shouldn't be plugging this business, Ralfy. This looks like a pure PR to me. Buying this whisky means that you basically have to pay them for the privilege of being their beta tester. I don't think they deserve that. Kininvie isn't even a proper distillery in its own right. It's an add-on to Balvenie, all they have is the stillroom. For years they were a cash cow for Grants family, making a lot of money from the overpriced shite, Monkey Shoulder. Now they are coming up with an artsy cardboard cutout with some drawings and process parameters on it and suddenly we are to believe in Kininvie being a cutting-edge experimental whisky trailblazer. Well, thanks but no, thanks. Oh. I just found it on Amazon at £35 for 0.5l and the blurb says it's good for a present for a whisky aficionado. It is so wrong on so many levels. Firstly it's Amazon. Secondly, the exploitative pricing. Thirdly, if they say themselves it's good to be bought for someone it means they know the price is pure BS and they openly admit it.

Speaking of pure potstill whiskey and Irish whiskey in general, are there any Ralfy Reviews of Irish whiskey in the horizon? I'd also love to hear your thoughts on how things are looking for Irish whiskey and distilleries in the future.

Love the details included of the distillation and bottling. I want to see more of this. In the sea of whiskies I'm more inclined to buy the ones where more effort is put in and it stands out. This would be a good example I think.
