Love Edradour, thanks Ralfy! I've got a 10 yr 2006 and a 10 yr Straight From The Cask, both equally delicious. Their peated Ballechin is good too.

There's a great book about the history of Edradour, well worth a read. Annoys me that The Whisky Bible always snub them though.

Looks epic! (The whisky, not the injury. Had a few stitches in my thumb lately, wish I could say it was from manly axe wielding activities. Unfortunately I had a mishap with a cafetiere, how middle class!) Get well soon!

I've had a bottle of the unforgettable Edradour Caledonia 12 @46% very dirty whisky .. made the Lagavulin 16 seem like a light weight:-) … I think the Caledonia would have been much better @50%abv ….. to cut through all the darkness in that brew! .. but 57.2% .. I'm a little envious here:-) .. Slangé fra Montreal

Hi Ralfy, how would you compare this to the Fairy Flag bottling? Oh, and is this in fact cask nr 347?

Have you picked up any butyric/butter acid notes in Edradour? A malt friend of mine relates this particular note to the Morton's Refrigerator.

Had one of these bottles years ago, and it was a fantastic sherry monster. Good memories on this one, enjoyed every sip.

I tried a similar bottle to this at a tasting and was very impressed by it. Silly me didn't buy a bottle of it right away, and it is long gone now!

I picked up 2 bottles of this at the distillery. The older staff there said it was "the one" to get.

yes, this was my first distillery that I visited on my whisky tour. We went to 15 different distilleries and this one stayed on my mind as the best. Thank you ralfy for the wise words. The distillery is so beautiful place to visit and you get to go to the warehouse and even touch the cask's and film everything. Must see place on your whisky journey.
